We provide information for any household needing assistance in the following areas: Kingsville, Ricardo, Riviera and Sarita.
Assistance is based on federal guidelines and is available until funds are exhausted.

- APPLYING DOES NOT GUARENTEE ASSISTANCE. THIS PROGRAM IS FEDERALY FUNDED. ASSISTANCE IS BASED ON AVAILABILTY OF FUNDING AND MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE EACH YEAR.
YOU MUST HAVE ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. IF EMAILING DOCUMENTS, IT MUST BE DONE A DAY BEFORE YOUR APPOINMENT. YOU MAY NOT BE MORE THAN 15 MINUTES LATE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN RESCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT, IF APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE.
If You Do Not Receive Income: (For Anyone 18 Years of Age And Older)
If you are not employed...
If you do not receive SSA/SSI/VA BENIFITS or financial family support...
- You MUST register with WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS and provide proof that you are currently active.
_ You must fill out a Declaration of income statement (DIS) form explaining reason for not having income.
- FULLTIME STUDENTS (10yrs. or older) must provide a CURRENT school schedule and also complete a DIS form.

Requirements
Must provide income for all household members for the past 30 days prior to the date of application
-Valid/ current photo ID (No more than 2 years expired) (may use a U.S. Passport) for ALL household members 18 years of age and older.
– Birth certificate AND Social Security cards for EVERYONE in the household.
– Certificate of Naturalization or citizenship (must include an alien number and/or certificate number written on them and include photo.) Employment authorization card.
-You must show proof of earnings and
-You must register with WORKFORCE and provide proof that you are currently active.
(you must provide income for all household members for the past 30 days prior to the date of application)
- Pay check stubs (WEEKLY 4-5, BI-WEEKLY/SEMI 2-3, MONTHLY 1)
- Social Security (SSA) award letter (CURRENT YEAR)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI) award letter (CURRENT YEAR)
- Retirement or Pension Document
- VA or VA Disability Benefits award letter
- Insurance/Workers Comp/ Annuity Payments Document
- Child Support/Unemployment Benefits/TANF/SNAP (CURRENT YEAR)
- As per state, Bank statements WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

Income Limits for CEAP
Eligibility for CEAP is calculated at 150% of Federal Poverty Income Limits.
YOU ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR BILL BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
KCHS WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY LATE FEES, DEPOSITS OR RECONNECTION CHARGES. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL IF YOUR APPLICATION IS APPROVED OR DENIED.
Current Utility Bills (Electric and Gas) showing meter number and service address. If bill is not under your name or anyone in your household proof of residency will be required. If there is a credit or a zero balance on your bill we will not be able to assist you at this time as the state would not consider this an immediate need of assistance.
